Dolby Atmos®

Dolby Atmos transports you into the story with moving audio that flows all around you with breathtaking realism. Atmos is a revolution in cinema sound that permits the sound designer to place objects anywhere in the auditorium’s “ATMO-Sphere.” With Dolby Atmos, sound comes from all directions, including overhead. Dialogue and music is clearer, and the entire soundscape is richer, more detailed, and deeper, recreating the way sound behaves in real life.

Wyoming’s first Dolby Atmos auditorium was the Capitol Cinema 12’s ARQ® auditorium. Now, Laramie’s Studio City UW ARQ® auditorium features Dolby Atmos as well.

Dolby first approves the theatre equipment, then determines the exact location of each speaker. The Atmos installation at Studio City UW consists of 34 unique channels of sound, reproduced over 3 four-way stage speakers, six front and back dual subwoofers, and 28 side and ceiling surround speakers. There are a total of 58 amplifiers powering the system. Once the installation is complete, it is certified to Dolby standards for total accuracy.

Experience how Dolby Atmos transports you from the ordinary into the extraordinary.
